Quick question....I cleaned some black algae off a roof that is about 12- 15 yrs old......after drying it seemed i had a little black algae left in some areas it was prior so I hit it up again......it still seems a little discolored in those areas but up close nothing appears on the shingles...I did the whole roof.....any ideas?

Yeah Charlie, it is called GRANULE LOSS
As a roof ages, it looses granules.'The granules determine color of a roof, asphalt is black, and so w/o adequate granules, roof has a few black spots.

Go to Texas Cattle Company in Lakeland. They are owned by Charlies and it is excellent. Go to Harry's Seafood Bar and Grill in Lakeland. It is awesome. It has a little cajun flare. Chris, I don't know if you eat mexican food but if you do you need to try MI CASA in Plant City. It is in the Publix strip center right off of I-4 on Thonotosassa Rd. I have never eaten Krystals in my life. I guess I need to try it.

Thanks Chris for your reply....I went back to the location this morning with a pair of binoculars. It took awhile but I noticed a pattern. The roof has three colors, brown,silver and a little red. The shadow is not visable from dead on in front of the home,but on a side angle it is. With the binoculars I noticed the area of the shadow had a pattern of mostly brown shingles with no silver ones to break it up. The home owner is meeting me today at 4:30 to discuss it, I will hand him the binoculars so he can see for himself.Thanks agin for the response.
