I was getting some equipment serviced last week. While talking to the owner we got on the subject of sales tax collections. He mentioned that most of the cleaners he knew did not collect and sales tax. He said in Florida there is no tax on labor. What do you cleaners in Florida say??

Butyl is the magic ingredient for cleaning gutters.

I just tested out adding some to pressuretek's F-13 gutter grenade and it works just as good as Mighty Max plus from Soap Warehouse which is very similar to Gutter Zap.

50 gallon drum of Butyl enhanced F-13

Fill drum with 40 gallons of water

Add 5 gallons pressure-tek's F-13 (5% potassium hydroxide)

Add 5 gallons 100% pure Butyl Cellosolve (2-butoxy ethanol) from http://www.chemistrystore.com/cart.cgi?group=49899&child=49905

Per Spencer's request, here's my procedure for cleaning wood.

For gray moldy wood with no stain, or a cheap clear coat such as Thompson's

1) Soak wood thoroughly with

6 ounces/gallon Sodium Percarbonate and 1-2 ounces Sodium Hydroxide plus Dawn.

- for wood with no stain use 6 oz/gallon Percarb, 1 oz/gallon lye, dawn.

- for wood with clear coat use 6 oz/gallon Percarb, 2 oz/gallon lye, dawn.

2) Pressure wash with about 500-1000 psi

3) Neutralize/brighten with 6 ounces/gallon of ...

Most houses I clean have two water hook ups and I don't have a problem running out of water when I hook them both into my 335 gallon tank on my trailer.

Today, the house I was working on only had one hook up, and the water pressure was not keeping up with the demand of my 8gpm pressure washer.

I just ordered a 3/4" hose reel swivel to try to increase my flow, the one I have on there now is 1/2". 3/4" should help give me more flow, probably not much but every little bit helps.

How long does it take SH to start losing it's power in the Florida Heat? A day? A month? Let's just say in a clear chem tank in a outside shed. Not exposed to the sun. Just heat. Chris? I can tell you after a couple of days it doesn't smell as strong. I am just not sure if it has lost it's power. Is there something in household bleach that preserves it longer? Just curious.

Envirospec has upgraded their stainless steel couplers and plugs. They are the best for the money.

Hansen or Parker made in USA are better but they cost a lot more.

They used to sell these cheap stainless couplers and plugs with made in China written on them. They didn't last as long as the ones they sell now.

The ones they sell now are TOUGH! Premium long body couplers, probably made with a high grade stainless steel. They don't say made in China on them either.
